Rental requirements
Required license:
- B (passenger cars)
Other:
Consequential Loss: If your car breaks down and you miss a business meeting, they pay for the car repair, not your "lost income." Wear and Tear: They won’t replace a battery that died of old age or tires that are naturally bald. Commercial Use: If you use your private car for Grab or delivery services without a "commercial use" rider, any accident during work will be excluded. Family Members: Standard CTPL excludes members of your household or relatives within the "second degree of consanguinity" (your kids, parents, or siblings) from being considered "third parties."
Driver license requirements
Foreign driving licenses are valid in the Philippines for up to 90 days after arrival. Beyond 90 days, you must convert your foreign license to a local one. Plan accordingly if your stay is longer than three months. It is recommended to carry an International Driving Permit (IDP).

Insurance
This vehicle is covered by the following insurances:
- Third Party (TPL or CTPL)
- comprehensive
Insurance details:
Acts of Nature (AON): In the PH, this is often an add-on, not automatic. It covers damage from typhoons, floods (like Ondoy or Carina), earthquakes, and volcanic ashfall. Without this specific rider, your "comprehensive" plan won't pay for flood damage.
Authorized Driver Clause: The insurance only pays if the person driving has a valid driver’s license and is not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If a friend borrows your car and their license is expired, the claim will be denied.
Deductible (Participation Fee): This is the amount you pay out-of-pocket before the insurance kicks in. In the PH, this is typically 0.5% to 1% of the vehicle’s value (e.g., ₱5,000 for a ₱1M car).
